Brooklyn Nine-Nine is an American comedy television series that revolves around seven New York City Police Department (NYPD) detectives who are adjusting to life under their new commanding officer. Every officer in the precinct, save for a few supporting characters, are depicted to be good and fair people, who are protecting their city.

A cultural boycott is when artists and cultural practitioners of all kinds refuse to take part in any activity in the country that is being boycotted/sanctioned. It also calls consumers of art not to support events or consume art that is sanctioned by, or furthers the goals of, the state being avoided. Artists from said country are also excluded from international events, world stages, and exhibitions of importance held outside their nation; with their art often being removed from platforms where it was previously exhibited.

Banksy is an anonymous England-based street artist, political activist and film director, whose real name and identity remain unconfirmed and the subject of speculation. A major reason for his hidden identity is that graffiti, in most places, is an illegal activity. He displays his art on publicly visible surfaces such as walls and self-built physical prop pieces. While he no longer sells photographs or reproductions of his street graffiti, but his public "installations" are regularly resold by the small businesses and homeowners whose property he's made them on, often even by removing the wall they were painted on. There have been at least 2 pieces of his that have been reproduced by larger companies, who have proceeded to sell them for a profit. A small number of Banksy's works are officially, non-publicly, sold through an agency created by Banksy named Pest Control.

A “Child's Life Currency” is the cost of an item, translated into the number of children that could be saved from death using that amount of money. Thus, a brand new sedan might cost about 28 children's lives, a meal at a nice restaurant might cost about 2 children's lives, and a 320,000$ luxury doghouse costs about 320 children's lives.

Ride or die is a colloquial expression of extreme loyalty to someone. It is a slang derived from the phrase "ride till the end or die trying." It pertains to a kind relationship where you stand by each other through any problem. Another definition is when one is willing to do anything for someone they love or highly appreciate in their life. This includes romantic, friendly, and familial relationships.

In many countries where homosexuality has been decriminalised, LGBT advocacy has focused its attentions on the demand for same-sex marriage laws, legal adoption, parenthood, and further down that road, rights to divorce and custody. The global LGBT human rights movement, in other words, has directed its energies at legal inclusion and the bestowal of equal rights on stigmatised sexual groups.

Mark W. Hofmann was a rare documents dealer and skilled forger who exploited public interest in Latter-day Saint (Mormon Church) history by selling authentic, altered, and forged historical documents in the early 1980s. Hofmann was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who had privately stopped believing in God, and followed an integration of mainstream Christian beliefs with modifications stemming from belief in the dictums of Mormon religious leader Joseph Smith, who claimed to have been given divine revelations by a higher power. By his mid- 20s, Hofmann had become interested in historical works about the Church’s history and was familiar with documents that were mentioned in historical accounts but that had never been located, such as the copy of Book of Mormon. In 1980 Hofmann claimed to have found a copy of this transcript folded and placed between the pages of a 17th-century King James Bible. Scholars who evaluated the document believed it to be authentic based on the handwriting’s consistency with other confirmed samples of Joseph Smith’s writing - most agreed, years later, that Hofmann's forgeries were so good that they would have probably gone unnoticed had he not eventually gotten caught and interrogated for planting bombs in his former colleagues' places of work. Hofmann deceived not only Church leaders and historians with his forgeries but also his family and friends, archivists and librarians, and other experts. The Church acquired several documents from him, which became the subject of both scholarly inquiry and public discussion, becoming divine items in the Church's collection. Eventually, upon revelation of his forgeries, the sensationalist aspects of the Hofmann case led Mormon apostle Dallin H. Oaks to believe that Mormons had witnessed "some of the most intense LDS Church-bashing since the turn of the 20th century." Many agreed that press reports "contained an astonishing amount of innuendo associating Hofmann's plagiarism with Mormon beginnings." Several reports also alleged secrecy and cover-up on the part of LDS general authorities.
